Kit DesLauriers is the first person to ski the Seven Summits, the highest on each continent, and she is the first and only woman to have skied from the summit of Mt. Everest. A member of The North Face Global Athlete Team since 2005, Kit is also a two-time World Freeskiing Women’s Champion and been inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. In 2015, Kit became a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for her scientific mapping work in Alaska’s Brooks Range, a place where she continues to explore and is the first person to have skied the five highest mountains.
Kit lives in Jackson, Wyoming and is the mother of two teenage daughters. She volunteers as a member of the Protect Our Winters Riders Alliance and serves on the board of directors for Alaska Wilderness League. Outside named Kit as one of the women who has made the biggest impact on our world and Men’s Journal put her on their list as one of the 18 most adventurous people in the world.
